The client approached us with the idea of extending into their small back garden, creating more of a courtyard, which was to be designed at a later date. Our objective was to adhere to the instruction of providing a rustic and unique look to the extension, so we decided to implement some recycled wood from an old boat and created a timber cladded feature wall, which once treated looked spectacular. This was contrasted with a large opening and installing the bi-fold created the feeling that the garden was a part of the back room.
Not only was the kitchen made more spacious, but the client used the remaining room to create a relaxing dining area, as well as moving in a sofa so that they could entertain guests on a regular basis. The rear patio was also updated and generated a few extra square metres for the client to utilise, perhaps for a BBQ or outdoor dining.
